A contemporary family home using modernist raw materials with linear precision.
The property is on multiple levels: creating optimal flow through vertical circulation was key to easy living. Floating grey oak stairs connect the lower ground to the upper levels; at the top of the house, we literally raised the roof to maximise ceiling heights. Between the two, the professional kitchen and relaxed living room form the heart of the family home, and connect to a sunken spiral wine cellar.
The palette is cool and elemental: porcelain floors, metal, stone and timber, given a light spaciousness derived from clean lines and smartly hidden functionality.
A children’s room is playful and inspirational, with colourful detailing, bespoke furniture, a secret den and mezzanine sleep space.
