This property was acquired as the London residence for an eminent Kuwaiti family. Mimetico were appointed to reconfigure and design the entire apartment, to serve as a dual-purpose space for formal entertaining and a relaxed luxury home-from-home.
Combining a palette of elegant natural colours and materials with gold detailing, we created settings that harmonised favourite pieces from the client’s Kuwaiti residence with the heritage of the Crown Estate building.
The stone flooring was sourced directly from Italian quarries, and inlaid with bespoke patterns. The parquet floor tiles and timber inlays were custom-designed and bought from sustainable sources. The reception room was restored to the traditional splendour of its heritage, with specially-commissioned panelled walling, coving and mouldings, with gold leaf detailing. An innovative motorised floor track conceals an heirloom drinks cabinet behind the flush panelled wall.
In the private family rooms, fitted furniture was designed and engineered to conceal walk-in en-suites, with a state-of-the-art integrated wetroom and shower system for the master bedroom. Fully-integrated home automation and HVAC systems work invisibly behind the heritage decor for ultimate ease of living.
The work was conducted end-to-end through diligent communication with the Crown Estate, to ensure that each and every element was approved by the Conservation Architect to the Queen and Crown Estate.
